Direct and Indirect Remuneration (DIR) is a complicated component of Medicare Part D plans that pharmacies of all classifications must navigate. The constructs by which DIR is assessed are very complicated and have been implemented in a variety of different ways and are changing from year to year. The lack of clarity, fairness and transparency to all parties has created business challenges for pharmacies.
To help you better understand the different mechanisms by which DIR is measured and applied to pharmacies and how the pharmacy ecosystem is impacted, Inmar has developed a white paper, commissioned by NACDS “Direct and Indirect Remuneration (DIR) Performance and the Impact on Pharmacies Serving Medicare Part D Beneficiaries”. This paper will provide data and insights into both DIR impact and the opportunities for improvement with the NACDS initiatives.
