We surveyed 1,000 emerging brands shoppers and learned that, among first-time buyers of an emerging brand, 89% were likely to purchase again.     Shoppers are always looking for a good deal, and rely on coupons to stretch their dollars as far as possible. Oftentimes, this may inadvertently lead to coupon misuse. While this misuse doesn’t seem as malicious as creating and using counterfeit coupons, it does contribute to the $100 million loss our industry faces due to coupon fraud. With that in mind, Inmar announced a recent survey that asked coupon-using shoppers how they use the popular discounts.

    Paper coupons are critical to the health of grocery retail but coupon counterfeiting is costing brands and retailers $100 million a year. Everyone is doing what they can to stop it but we think more needs to be done. Therefore, we have publicly committed to ending paper coupon fraud in the grocery industry by 2024.

    The Inmar Analytics team recently studied 2016 and 2017 transaction data and over 26,000 shoppers who had made a purchase in the alcohol category, often referred to as the adult beverage category. This category includes beer, wine and spirits. We looked at the data from a cross-generational perspective.
