NATIONAL RETAIL CHAIN USES Rx ANALYTICS ON DEMAND TO SOLVE A PAYER CONTRACTING PROBLEM

SITUATION

A large national retail chain informed Inmar that two of their pharmacies were experiencing a significant decrease in sales they couldn’t explain.

STRATEGY

  • Using Period Compare View, we isolated the affected stores and determined they were geographically similar.
  • Next, we narrowed down the discrepancies to a single payer, and more specifically, a missing BIN/PCN/Group combination.
  • This lead to the identification of a specific regional plan that inadvertently omitted these pharmacies when recontracting with the pharmacy chain. 

RESULTS

  • By using Rx Analytics on Demand, this client was able to identify the root cause of a sudden decline in prescription volume. Once the payer was contacted and shown the data, the pharmacy chain was able to renew their contract and $15M in losses were avoided.
