Project Manager (Inmar Technology Solutions)

Under the general direction of a Technical Director in SDS, the Project Manager plans, organizes and manages all phases of complex project(s) through associated staff. Has primary accountability for developing effective project plans; for managing cross-functional teams; for delivering on the project objectives, schedule, and budget.  Project Manager directly supervises other team members assigned to the project.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Effectively leads complex projects, including project planning, project direction, team formation and development, project tracking and control, and project deliverables by:
    • Determining resource requirements, selecting team members and coordinating support functions
    • Defining project tasks, formulating plans for expected performance and assigning tasks to project team members
    • Tracking monitoring and reviewing project team performance against objectives
    • Ensuring the proper evaluation and recognition of project team performance
    • Auditing the status of commitments, plans, schedules, work scope and finances on a periodic basis.  Initiating corrective action where performance does not meet objectives.
  2. Ensures satisfaction and quality of deliverables by:
    • Forecasting resource demands and task completion
    • Directing the formulation of the management plan for the project to meet contract requirements using the best available tools
    • Managing project changes, communicating/justifying changes to appropriate management, and managing the related execution of prescribed project charge control procedures
  3. Serves as primary contact between all constituents through all phases of project by:
    • Managing development of technical resolutions
    • Developing communication plans and managing resource plans
    • Fully understanding the goals and objectives of each project and the business need(s) driving those objectives
    • Reporting project progress to appropriate management
    • Reviews and approves invoices, vendor payments and the release of funds and resources
    • Effectively applies management development training and constructive feedback, demonstrating required leadership standards and self-development. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and effectively assesses their potential use.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in project management including resource management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering or related area
  • PMP Certification from  Project Management Institute (preferred)
  • Ability to travel as required by client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams to ensure the attainment of established objectives and to objectively review team members and communicate results to appropriate management
  • Ability to understand, facilitate, direct, assist, and communicate technical solutions as part of project management duties; (technical background, either programming/design, architecture, or infrastructure preferred)
  • Understand people, their problems, and demonstrate a sense of fairness and consistency
  • Compose professional business correspondence and presentation materials
  • Arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action
  • Problem-solve and perform root cause analysis
  • Results-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
  • Comfortable with confrontation and negotiation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Risk Management and Process Management
  • Software tools & certifications:
    • Familiar with software development tools such as MS Visual Studio Team Systems (Team Foundation Server)
    • Familiar with MS Project Server and Sharepoint
    • Member of and/or certifications in a professional quality organization such as Project Management Institute (PMI)
