MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Current Projects and People Management - 70%
- Ensures that the business systems are meeting the needs of the business in the corporate office as well as across 39 facilities. This includes making sure that the nightly processes complete successfully and that all customer schedules are being met.
- Measures the operational stability of the business systems and creates priorities for addressing issues that impact business performance.
- Provides project management and leadership to a team of professionals for the planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and post-implementation of complex information system projects.
- Gathers requirements; formulates, plans, and tracks project program deliverables and milestones; and manages requirements of the business.
- Accountable for budget planning and monthly reconciliation, staffing projections, salary planning and administration, external consultant contracts, employee development and mentoring, and promoting a culture of open and honest communication, partnership, continuous improvement and opportunities.
- Identifies opportunities to make the applications easier to maintain, easier to address customer requests.
- Ensures that the applications are upgraded on a regular basis to the latest software releases.
- Works with the Project Delivery teams to ensure successful transition of new projects into production. This includes making sure the support team understands the functionality and how to support the changes. Additionally, this involves working with the business to make sure there are no interruptions to business schedules and that the business understands how to take advantage of the new functionality.
- Ensure that all changes follow the company guidelines and procedures for Change Control.
Working with Customers, Users, and Vendors - 15%
- Develops positive relationships with business units to better understand their business needs in order to make information technology and process improvement recommendations.
- Actively works with the business team to prioritize enhancements and issue resolution.
- Provides consistent communication and reporting to the business on status of priorities and planned changes.
- Promotes a work environment of continuous improvement by participating as a member of department workgroups focused on eliminating barriers and developing new and innovative processes to ensure prompt project delivery and support strategic initiatives.
- Interfaces and partners with all Inmar Technology Solutions departments (Development, Database Administration, Systems Operations, PMO) to develop and maintain new efficiencies, systems, and optimized environments.
- Stays current on the latest trends/developments and identifies new technology opportunities that will ensure a leading edge position in the marketplace.
- Works with vendors to resolve support / operational stability issues.
Organizational and Corporate Initiatives - 15%
- Conducts special studies and investigations pertaining to the development of new information systems to meet the current and projected needs of the business.
- Participates in strategic planning and brainstorming sessions to provide low budget, leading edge technologies to help ensure that Inmar is the leader in the reverse logistics industry.
- Evaluates and recommends key technology and strategic partnerships.
- Participates in special projects, as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and 5+ years; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to effectively manage all phases of application development and support; including planning, monitoring, and control, team formation and development, project tracking and project deliverables
- Proven ability to work in a demanding, high paced environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective communication and resource plans
- Serve as an effective liaison between all constituents involved in the assigned project
- Effectively lead cross functional teams to ensure the attainment of established objectives
- Objectively review team members and communicate results to appropriate management
- Assist in developing project budget and make recommendations for expenditures in accordance with budget
- Compose professional business correspondence and presentation materials
- Arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action
- Problem solve and perform root cause analysis
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Results-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
